#Beauty Tip Tuesday: blush pretty much breathes life into any makeup look, especially a natural soft makeup look. Sheer bright pink blush tones are perfect for spring. (Taken with instagram)

Beauty Tip Tuesday
Don’t you just love when your makeup is looking flawless and then you go and ruin it by getting too powder happy? One of my biggest pet peeves, is an over powdered face.
No need to panic, this problem is easily fixed. If you dampen your hands with some cool water and pat them all over face gently it will get you back to looking like your normal and flawless self.
Side note tip: If you know your going to be in a situation where you’re going to be photographed a lot I suggest using a powder with a little bit of a tint. Powders that are too light, especially white, will show up a lot under flashes and poor lighting. Everyone wants to have good Facebook pictures, right? :)
Stay pretty!

Beauty Tip Tuesday: SPF

I know I’ve mentioned before how I’m not a big fan of the sun, in all honesty, I don’t think the sun is a fan of mine either. However, our strained relationship has taught me a few things about skin care and how to protect my skin from the sun. I’ve decided to share my knowledge with you all!
First off, SPF very simply means Skin Protection Factor. Even more simply, it means how much sun protection a product has. The FDA tests every product’s SPF claim before they can slap on an “SPF included” label on the front. Don’t worry, no one is going to bamboozle you.
The number after “SPF” determines how long you can be exposed to sunlight without damaging your skin. Generally people begin to burn within 15 minutes of sun exposure. If you wear a sunscreen with an SPF 15 than this mean that you can be in the sun 15 times longer without burning (15 X 15) meaning you can stay in the sun, approximately, three and a half hours before having to reapply. Yes, once your SPF time runs out you NEED to reapply!
Sunlight exposes you to 2 types of ultraviolet rays, UVB and UVA. These rays cause wrinkles and most importantly skin cancer. UVB rays has an immediate effect on your skin, whereas, the UVA don’t have a direct effect but they are the main cause of skin cancer, AH!
POP QUIZ: If my Moisturizer has an SPF of 15 and my foundation has an SPF 10, does that mean my total SPF is 25? NO!!! The amount of protection is based off of the highest number, in this case SPF 15.
*Sunscreen should be applied 15 to 30 minutes before sunlight exposure.
So folks, always wear some form of sun protection. even an SPF 5 is better than no SPF.
Stay beautiful my lovelies!
Rocky
